About Us

The Gay Classic Car Group started informally in 1988 when a group of friends who owned a variety of cars met one lunchtime.
This resulted in several ad hoc meetings, culminating in a 12 car London to Brighton run.

The next year there were 5 cars at London Pride, where more than 20 people enrolled as new members, and by 1990 over 40 people attended one Surrey meeting.

The members are growing
Since then GCCG membership has grown steadily to over 480 members and partners (as at June 2008), and in 2007 we enjoyed an increase of over 12% in the number of members !

We try very hard to make the club welcoming and fun for new members, and if you would like to come to a meeting to see if we're for you that can be arranged - Just email events@gccg.org.uk for more information.

GCCG is a national organisation with strong regional activities, and is run by a committee who co-ordinate a varied programme of events throughout the year and produce a quarterly magazine, 'Big End', and a regular e-bulletin "All Torque".

Every year there are over 20 events across Britain. The Group has a number of Regional representatives throughout the U.K. to promote local events and host local meetings. We maintain links with similar organisations in Europe, the USA and Australia. Every year there is an international event, Eurotour, at which GCCG members meet friends from other clubs in Germany, France, Benelux and further afield.
Every three years this event is held in Britain, GCCG last hosted the event in May 2008 in conjuction with our 20th Birthday celebrations.

As our membership grows, we are expanding our services to members via web and email, and we holding a wide range of events that are interesting, enjoyable and accessible for everybody taking part. We hope that you will want to participate fully in our programme!

You can now apply online, just use the "Join Now" button on the navigation bar above.
