Over the weekends of 28th & 29th March and 10th to 14th April 2020 the GCCG held its first ever 'Fix-It Weekends’
Tag us at #gccgfixit and we'll keep adding photos and videos of your projects while the lockdown stops us getting out and about as normal.
Over the weekend of 9th-10th May 2020 we held our first ever 'Scrubbers Weekend' find out more here.
We were due to be attending the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show held at the NEC. This event, along with many others has been cancelled on the advice of the UK Government due to the current Covid-19 outbreak.
The measures are necessary, but for many, the loss of many classic car events and the restrictions on socialising will hit hard. We all love using our cars, but often put off jobs to make them even better. This is an ideal opportunity to get on-line, order those bits and get those little (or sometimes big niggles) sorted out.
Fix-It Weekend is a way we can keep our hobby alive as keeping physically safe and mentally sane. If you have a job you have been putting off, do it on fix-it weekend:
- You can photograph your work (before and after) and share on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with the tag #gccgfixit.
- If you have the equipment and software you can even make a short video and share it on social media with the tag #gccgfixit or send it to events@gccg.org.uk to feature it on our website.
- We will have a few people available so you can “phone a friend” or contact on one of the platforms like Skype, if you need a little guidance.

We LOVE this idea! With many of us having a little more time on our hands and due to restrictions on socialising, this is the perfect time to get those resto/maintenance jobs 🤓#GCCGFixIt https://t.co/pL0A0vBBc5
