North East

Hello and welcome to the GCCG North East region, I’m John Holt the Area Organiser. I’ve lived in Newcastle since University a couple of years ago or so, and love the area.

We are one of the smaller regions but one of the very best, with many of the most fabulous  roads and scenery in the UK. We have more castles in the northeast than you could  reasonably shake a stick at.

Geographically the North East spans from the Northeast coast all the way across to the  Lake District via the Tyne Valley and Unesco World Heritage Hadrians Wall. Bounded to  the south by the North Pennines and God’s Own Country Yorkshire and to the north by the  fabulously scenic Borders and our lovely Scottish brethren.

We organise regular runs out, often meeting up with our friends in Yorkshire or Scotland  and take in the fabulous scenery this region has to offer. We also host monthly pub meets  on the first Thursday of every month for a get-together and good chat.
