Hi, I’m Phil Dunster, the Area Organiser for the North West Region.
Originally a dyed-in- the-wool southerner here, I moved up north to Lancaster in 2002 and joined the club shortly after. Passionate about all types of transport but especially classic cars, I have been driving my 1972 Morris Marina since 1984, with a Rover 75, the second of 2 now in the oldie fleet. Over the years myself and Hubbie Nick have also had other Marinas, various ADO16’s including a Riley, an MGF and even had a Xantia Activa once, though that was nearly new at the time, and an itch I wish I was brave enough to scratch again. Away from cars I am a bit of a history lover and volunteer at a local museum in Lancaster, The Judges Lodgings.
The North West is a large and varied area, spreading from Manchester in the South, the open spaces of the Lake District, and up to the Scottish border in the north. We have regular meetings throughout the month, Chris Langford organises a massively popular meet at Whitchurch every third Wednesday, whilst I hold alternate meetings between Sale in the South of the patch and Lancaster in the middle.
As well as various drives out during the year our annual highlight is the Tatton Classic Car show in June, and from 2026, August too.
